Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) Clinical Skills, Part 1
CALM is a practical intervention that equips providers with the tools to increase the time and distance between individuals at risk of suicide and the most common lethal methods of suicide, particularly firearms. This session will provide clinical skills and strategies to address raising the issue with patients/clients, talking about reducing access to firearms, safe storage, enlisting a support person, and when to reintroduce firearms.
